Lauren Bernal is a graduate from the Bachelor of Science program in Psychology at the University of Texas at Dallas. During her academic career at UT Dallas, she has Research Assisted Dr. Walter J. Dowling’s Music Perception & Cognition Lab as well as Dr. Karen Prager’s Couples Daily Lives Lab. During an independent study, she investigated positive affect induced by musical tempos in the fall of 2018. Over the summer of 2018, she interned for UT Southwestern’s Center for Depression Research and Clinical Care where she researched Cognitive Impairments Influenced by Parental Relationships in Major Depressive Disorder.
In addition to research, she has been President of the Sigma Kappa Delta English Honors Society and founder of Eastfield’s Outdoor Club. She is also a member of Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology, Phi Theta Kappa, National Honors Society, and The National Society of Leadership and Success.
She began her journey with the ArtSciLab as Dr. Kathryn Evans’ Research Assistant during the implementation of CDASH curriculum at UT Dallas in spring 2019. Her other projects: Art-Based Learning for Business (ABLB), eSport Therapy (ET) in collaboration with Mavs Gaming, and Tale of Two Thinking Systems (ToTTS).
