Graduating Students – The Road Ahead

With graduation just around the corner, the future becomes clear for graduating students. They have a goal set in their mind; they want to work their dream job where they can apply their skill-set and what they have learned through their degree. Four masters-level students of the ArtSciLab, graduating in Spring 2018, share their interests and future plans after they graduate.

Shruthy Sreepathy: Shruthy is pursuing an MS in Applied Cognition and Neuroscience with specialization in Human Computer Interaction. Her research in the ArtSciLab focuses on user research and usability testing. She is interested in prototyping and would like to pursue her career in the field of UX research/ design after graduation.

Kuo-Wei Lee: Kuo-Wei is pursuing an MA in Arts and Technology with a specialization in graphic and UX/UI design. His master thesis seeks to enhance the social experience of public art. After graduation he plans on creating a design company and is actively seeking a position as a UX/UI designer.

Yusra Khan: Yusra is pursuing an MS in Applied Cognition and Neuroscience with specialization in Human Computer Interaction. She is working in collaboration with MIT Press on the ARTECA project as part of her research at ArtSci Lab. She plans on working as a UX/UI designer after graduation.

Emma Newkirk: Emma is pursuing an MS in Applied Cognition and Neuroscience with specialization in Human Computer Interaction. She coordinates the strategic goals and day-to-day operations of ArtSci Lab. She is working on a web/space branding redesign project to improve how we showcase our work and students. She is also working on some research on the “science of team science.” She hopes to pursue a career in the field of healthcare as a UX researcher and interaction designer where she can work at the intersection of design, technology, and healthcare policy.
